National Shrine of Our Lady of Ransom
St. Mary, the patron saint of the shrine, is also known as Vallarpadathamma, believed to be the protector of seafarers.
The most famous legend is that of a Hindu lady who, along with her infant son, were believed to have been rescued miraculously from the bottom of the backwaters after three days gone missing.
The new rosary park in front of the basilica tells the whole story of Jesus' life.
